Wherever he and his band use the earth or the natural world as a metaphor for love, we take that track as the site of harsh noise, digitally altered and emerging as a new site for a reflection on our tense moment. While questions of physical and virtual media are the most obvious, the deeper site of provocation asks what allegory will the love song writers seek after the climate crisis.
